A FUNCTIONAL AND INTEGRATIVE APPROACH

Functional medicine is a holistic, patient-centered, preventative approach to healthcare that is health-oriented, versus disease-oriented, and examines and investigates the underlying causes of conditions. For example, instead of simply prescribing a medication to treat high blood pressure, a functional medicine provider may dig deeper to find out why a patient has high blood pressure, and work with them to remove the cause(s).
